You have taken 2 test each was worth 20% of your grade. Right now your average is 93.7. You need to have a 91.5% to get an A. what precent do you need to average from this point on to keep your A?

This is a weighted average problem.

20% of grade  has an average of 93.7           Product = 0.2 x 93.7 = P1

80 % of the grade has an average of x.         Product = P2

100% of the grade has an average of 91.5     Product = P3

 

Solve for x  in the equation P1 + P2 = P3.
