If you hold a rock in your hand, you have to counteract the gravitational force, no matter where you are.
 
The gravitational force is equal to mass * grav acceleration.
 
As an equation, this looks like  
 
F = mg
 
The force to hold the object on earth is Fearth = 10.0 * 9.81
 
The force to hold the object on the moon is Fmoon = 10.0 * 1.62
