I love math, and I love to teach it.
Dear Alexis,
Hello, I would suggest that the first thing you want to do is pull out all important information and organize it :
f(X)= 2X +7
g(X) = X2 -4
h(X) =5
1. Find 4(hX), which means 4* hX. 4(5)=______ Use substitution here.
2. The question was incomplete on the system. Did you mean f(X)- g(X) and f(X)- H(X) ?
Then you would do the following: f(X)- g(X)= (2X +7) - (X2 -4) = Substitution
3. Then simplify the problem: 2X +7 -X2 +4 . Write it in standard form order (aX2 +bX +C =0) for a Quadratic:
-X2+2X +____. Complete
the problem
4. The next one is f(X)- H(X): 2X +7 - 5 = 2X + _____ [ 7-5 or 7+ -5] . Complete the problem.
I hope that this helps.
Thank you,
Susan C
