Mike ran the race in 1/2 an hour = 30 minutes

distance divided by speed = time. 3/6 = 1/2 hr.

Carl took 37.5 minutes to finish

or 37.5/60 hr

3/37.5/60 = 3(60)/37.5 = 180/37.5 = 24/5 = 4.8 mph

4 mph is normal walking speed

Carl's speed = 4.8 mph
