formula of slope for a line passing through (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) hence for the given line the slope, m is = (7-(-5))/(3-(-1))= (7+5)/(3+1)=12/4=3
with standard equation of a line with known slope m, y=mx, the equation of line will be y=3x.
