A student participated in one game in each of two rounds. 6 of 32 games were lost by his team during the first round. 5 of 32 games were lost by his team during the second round. What are the odds the student won his game in the first round, the second round, both rounds and the odds that he lost in both rounds?

P(first round) = 6/32

P(second round)=5/32

P(both)=P(first)xP(second)    assuming of course rounds are independent

 

P(lost both)=P(lost first)xP(lost second)     again by independence

 

P(lost a round) = 1 - P(won in that round)
