A projectile was launched from level ground with an initial speed of 340 m/s at 35 degrees to the horizontal. Estimate its range and time of flight.

y-component of velocity:    340m/s * sin 35° = 340 * .5736 ≈ 195 m/s
 
195m/s - (9.8m/s2 ) t = 0
 
195 = 9.8t
 
t = 195/9.8
 
t ≈ 19.9s
 
time of flight is 2t = 2(19.9s) = 39.8 seconds
 
range is:
 
39.8s * 340m/s * cos 35º = 11,084.77 meters
