- Is the lower duration time unusual?
Is the smallest number much smaller than all the others or around the same?
These are durations of a space shuttle flight. So with that in mind, what can you say about the smallest number. - Range of the sample data?
Range tells you how spread out the data is. The range is the difference between the largest value and the smallest value. So, what are the largest and smallest values? What is their difference? - Variance of the sample data?
V=1/(n-1) sum (xi- mean)2
where n is the number of datapoints and xi ranges over each datapoint. http://mathworld.wolfram.com/SampleVariance.html - Standard deviation is the square root of the variance. http://mathworld.wolfram.com/StandardDeviation.html
