Each team has 5 other teams to play, so if they play each team twice, that means that each team plays 10 games.
Since there are 6 teams, that looks like it might mean 60 games. HOWEVER, when team A plays team B and it gets counted as one of team A's games, team B is playing team A's and it's one of team B's games too.
So every game played is counted twice when you add up the games for each team. So you have to divide the total across all teams (60) by 2 in order to find the actual number of games played. So the answer is 30.

Well there's nothing wrong with getting help, as long as you learn something.
If you're ever interested in signing up for some real tutoring, let me know -- it's easy to do it remotely here on Wyzant. There's a fee of course, but it can be better than just getting help with a few homework problems.
