the length of a rectangle playing field is 4 yards longer than double the width. the perimeter is 296 yards can I get an answer

Given, Length (l) =  4 + 2w

 

Perimeter = 296.

so,

296 = 2[l +w]

substituting, l = 4 +2w

 

296 = 2[4+2w+w]

296 = 2[4+3w]

296 = 8 +6w

subtract 8,

288 = 6w

divide by 6 on both side,

w = 48

so, l = 4+2w = 4 +2*48 = 4 +96 = 100

 l = 100, w = 48
