How do i find the average velocity

Question

determine the object's average velocity over the time interval from 2 to 4 seconds. Express your answer in meters per second to the nearest integer.

The average velocity is given by [Change in position] divided by [Change in time].  

 

From the points you have listed [(2,10) and (4,20)] we have  

 

Average velocity = (20 - 10) / (4 - 2) = 10/2 = 5 meters per second
