Math problem

3 people have jobs. The first worker gets paid $422 weekly. The second worker gets paid $451.60 weekly. The third person gets paid $392.00 weekly.
A) If each job pays bi-weekly, what is the gross pay for a month with 2 pays?
B) If each job pays bi-weekly, what is the gross pay for a month with 3 pays?

I am completely stuck on this problem. I thought at first that I would multiply the weekly pay by 2 but the teacher said I was wrong, then the bell rang and now I have to finish it by tomorrow as homework and have no idea how to answer this!

PLEASE help me, thanks!

Alana,

Bi-weekly pay is the receipt of a paycheck every 2 weeks, or "pay periods."

In example A, each employee will receive two paychecks. Remember that each paycheck consists of 2 week's pay. Therefore, in a month of "2 pays," each employee will be paid for 4 weeks of work. In a month of "3 pays," each employee will be paid for 6 weeks of work. Does this make sense?

I hope this helps!

Christy
