 Numbers are divisible by 3 , if and only if Sum of their digits are divisible by 3:

 

    27252 :   Sum of its digits are: 2+5+2+7 +2 = 18, therefore 27252 is divisible by 3

 

     27252÷ 3 = 9084  

 

    47987 : Sum  of the digits here is : 4+7+ 9 +8 +7 =35, therefore the number 47987 is not divisible by 3.

 

     47987 ÷ 3 = 15995 , remainder 2
