The expression, (x+6)(x-g), has two terms [In Algebra a term is either a single number or variable, or numbers and variables multiplied together]: (x+6) and (x-g).
The First-Outside-Inside-Last (FOIL) method distributes the multiplication of (a+b)(c+d) like this:
(a+b)(c+d) = a(c+d) + b(c+d) = ac + ad + bc + bd
For this problem, (x+6)(x-g):
x*x - xg + 6x - 6g
x2 - xg + 6x - 6g [be careful with minus signs]
