My number had a tens digit that is 8 more than the ones digit. Zero is not one of my digits

Since the number is a two digit one, then 9 is the maximum number the tens place can have, otherwise we will have 3 digit number, starting with 100.  We don't want that.

The digits can't be 0, so they have to be either 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, or 9. You also know that the 10s has to be 8 higher than the 1s.
You can figure this out by adding 8 to the possible numbers for the 1s digit. For example, if you pick 2 for the 1s digit, add 8 to that. You get 10. Well, we know it can't be that because we can't have a 0.
So, which 1s digit can you add 8 to and still have a two digit number with no 0?



the answer is 91. If you add 8 to 1 in the ones place you get 9 for the tens place.
