How many girls enjoy each sport?

Students surveyed boys and girls separately to determine which sport was enjoyed the most. After completing the boy survey it was determined that for every 3 boys who enjoyed soccer 5 boys enjoyed basketball. The girl survey had a ratio of the Number of girls who enjoyed soccer to the Number of boys who enjoyed basketball of 7:1. If the same number of boys and girls were Surveyed and 90 boys enjoy soccer hOw many girls enjoy each sport?

ratio for boys:     3 soccer/5 basketball

ratio for girls:      7 soccer/1 basketball   (I think you have a typo when you say "...number of boys who enjoyed basketball

of 7:1" because boys and girls were surveyed separately.)

that said...

90 boys enjoy soccer

3*30/5*30=90 boys enjoy soccer/150 boys enjoy basketball

90+150=240 boys and therefore 240 girls

7/1 is the ratio for girls

7+1=8, 240/8=30

7*30/1*30=210 girls enjoy soccer/30 girls enjoy basketball  (210+30=240)
