I'm guessing the equation is supposed to be: p / (p - 2) = 2/5
Multiply both sides by p - 2:
p (p - 2) / (p - 2) = 2/5 (p - 2)
p = 2/5 p - 4/5
Subtract 2/5 p from both sides:
p - 2/5 p = -4/5
3/5 p = -4/5
Divide both sides by 3/5:
(3/5 p) / 3/5 = -4/5 / (3/5)
p = -4/5 * 5/3 = -4/3
