Renal refers to kidney and renal cells are the cells that come from kidney: embryonic, fetal, adult whatever.

 

The link gives you the names and some specification of various Renal Cell Lines and primary cultures that are commercially available.

 

If you read the list carefully then you would see following words:

 

Endothelial, Epithelial, Primary, Embryonic etc.

 

These words refer to the source layer and age group of kidney specifying the finite source of cell line  Various pathological conditions affect specific kidney functions and regions. Therefore, prior to drug testing or any other molecular experiments for Nano medicine, it is important to know if it is the right cell line/primary culture.
