Intramembranous ossification is the process of generating osteoprogenitor cell from Mesenchymal Stem Cells during fetal development. Generation of an osteoprogenitor cell is the first step of bone formation.
Hyaline cartilage is characteristic of bone joints. It hardens during osteoarthritis but that does not imply bone formation. Hyaline cartilages feel bony but that is not Intramembranous ossification; hardening is triggered first by molecular and then physiological alterations.
