Anthony set up a charity fund to support needy children. for every $5 collected by the charity the government donated an additional grant of $1.50. at the end of three months, if the charity fund had a total of $90,000 including the government grant. calculate the amount of grant received from the government

The proportion you have to set up here is the following:

 

amount collected : gov. grant = 5 : 1.50 = 10 : 3 (to have integers)

 

Similar to the previous problem we have 10 parts (collected) + 3 parts (government) = 13 parts total

 

Now calculate the 3 parts (out of 13) of the $90,000 that were added by the government.
