If it has been T hours since lunch and it will be twice as long (2*T) until dinner.  So, we have:

      3*T = 6       (divide both sides by 3)

         T = 2       (2 hours since 12 noon)

At 2 pm, it is twice as long until dinner (4 hours until 6 pm) than it has been since lunch (2 hours since 12 noon).

My answer is incorrect--I read the question to be manipulating what time dinner will be and not asking what time it is "now" within the guidelines of noon and 6PM. Therefore, I have removed it.
