How could you work out what chance you have of throwing a goal from the free throw line in basketball? (don't need the chance answer, just how you could figure it out)

It appears to me this is a simple percentage problem. One would need to know the number of free throws made and the number of attempts. Simply divide the number made by the number attempted to produce a decimal. Then you can change that decimal to a percentage. For example, 16 made while 25 were attempted would yield 0.64 as a decimal. This is also 64% stated as a percentage.

I may need more context, but they are either asking you to figure out the free throw line percentage, i.e. how many times out of ten let's say that the ball goes in depending on the shooter, or they are asking a vector problem in which the angle of the shot has a better chance of going in if the angle is steeper and closer to 90 degrees than zero degrees. Let me know what class this is for and what the context of the question is.
