There are an infinite number of rational numbers between any two rational numbers. The average of the any two rational numbers (554.5) is always a rational number between the original numbers.

A Rational Number is a real number that can be written as a simple fraction (i.e. as a ratio), so 1109/2 is a rational number in ratio form.
