Well, they already give you one answer, x = -3, so just substitute (plug in) the 2nd eqn.
3(-3) - 4y = -37
-9 -4y = -37
-4y = -37 + 9 = -28 (add 9 to each side, now solve for y)
-4y = -28
y = -28/-4 = 7
so x,y = (-3, 7)
