Yes it would because the y-axis divides the 1st and 2nd quadrants when above the x-axis, and 3rd and 4th quadrants when below the x-axis. Since your initial point is in the 2nd quadrant, the y coordinate will be the same when you reflected over the y-axis, but the x coordinate will change signs. This of it as a horizontal reflection.
