The way that you can look at this question is what chemical reaction produces Carbon Dioxide. Oil is used in our cars, generators, stoves, and etc. How do we utilize the energy stored in the bonds, we burn oil. Chemically burning is combustion, and combustion is defined by the reaction of a Carbon Sources + Oxidizer = CO2 and H2O. We also burn Coal and natural gases so CO2 is also a product. However what do we do with Uranium? We create nuclear fission. Fission is the act of taking an unstable molecule such as uranium and taking the energy of it falling apart, and absorbing the heat from the reaction.
