solving systems of linear equations

How do you solve the system of equation by substitution and addition method?
 
y=75x+100
y=125x

AND (answering the complete question) ---
 
Make one set of coefficients (either for x or y) the opposite of the other.  We'll multiply the second equation by (-1)
      -y = -125x
 
Add the two equations (since adding the same thing -- the second equation -- to both sides of an equation is allowed):
      y =  75x  + 100
      -y = -125x
     0 = -50x + 100
    50x = 100
     ...
 
Note that we could simply subtract the two equations (instead of multiplying one of them by -1) and still satisfy the intent of "addition method."   We could have called it "the addition or subtraction method."
