C = child

 

A+C = 211 total people

 

$10*A + $8*C = $1738 total cost

 

C = 211-A

 

Substituting: 10A+8*(211-A) = 1738

 

10A+1688-8A = 1738

2A = 50

A = 25

 

C = 211-25 = 186
