Hey Elizabeth,
The equation you have "y= -1/5x+3" is actually in slope-intercept form. Slope intercept form is the equation of a line represented in a certain way that is y = mx + b . In this equation "m" is the slope and "b" is the y-intercept of the line. So when looking back at your equation, m in this case would be "-1/5" and b would be "3". This ends up meaning that "-1/5" would be your slope and "3" would be your y-intercept.
If you ever need to visualize it you can always put it on a graph using a website like GeoGebra and that should help you "see" the equation. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Your equation is the slope-intercept form for a straight line. y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. I think you can answer the question with this info. For further clarification, why not graph it on Desmos Graphing Calculator and confirm?
