We know that this is a fraction problem. We also know that there are more brownies than people. The brownies are placed in the numerator, and the people are placed in the denominator, 7/5. Because the numerator (the number at the top) is bigger than the denominator (the number at the bottom), the problem can be reduced. You divide 7 by 5, which gives you 1, and 2/5 left over. The answer is 1 2/5.
