We use the slope and y-intercept from the equation.  Equation of a line is y=mx+b, where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

 

 

Slope is rise over run.  The rise is the distance on the y-axis, and the run is the distance on the x-axis.  The y-intercept is the single point on the y-axis.

 

We start by plotting the point of the y-intercept.  The value of this is (0,3).  The slope is -3/2.  From the y-intercept, we move 2 units to the right, then 3 units down.  We move 3 units down because the slope is negative.  This will give us our second point.  From that second point, perform the same steps as above.  These points that you plot every time you do this will be your coordinates.

y=(-3/2)x+3 is a line (since x has a power of 1) with the slope of -3/2 (rise is -3, run is 2), and a y intercept of (3,0).  The first point you can plot right away is the y intercept.  From there, use the slope to find the next point.  Rise by -3 (so since the value is negative you will actually go down by 3 tick marks) and run 2 (go 2 tick marks to the right). Now you should be at the coordinate (5,-3).  Since you only need 2 points to make a line, you are done!
