Why is 19 - 8 / 2 + 6 = 21?

Question

According to my understanding of PEMDAS, it should be solved as follows:

First, division: 8 / 2 = 4 

Second, addition: 4 + 6 = 10

Third, subtraction: 19 - 10.

Which should equal 9.

Halp! I'm tearing my hair out!

division first

19-4+6

add and subtract in order from left to right, whichever comes first !!!

subtraction comes first before addition !!!

19-4=15

15+6=21

also, multiply and divide in order from left to right, whichever comes first !!!
