Hi Tab,
To begin, volume = length x width x height. Since length x width of a prism would be the area of the base, if we know the base area we could find volume using the formula base x height. With that information, to determine the height of a rectangular prism with a volume 24cm3 (volume is always represented by the unit cubed) we would need to know the area of the base, or length and width. If we had the area of the base, we could use the formula 24 divided by area of base = height. The height would be in cm.
I hope that helps!
