Hi Colette, there's a little bit of information missing here. In order to predict the number of successes based on the number of attempts, we would need a success rate or some other information with which to tease out the corresponding value. Is there any other info available for the problem?

So of 9 attempts there were 3 successes? That means that he's completing 1/3 touchdown pass attempts (3 successes / 9 attempts). Successes / Attempts = success rate. If there were 12 attempts and the completion rate is 1/3, you would expect 4 completions on average (12 attempts * 1/3 success rate = 4 successes). Success rate * Attempts = Successes.04/02/22

Yes, he threw three touchdown passes in one game out of 9 touchdown pass attempts.04/02/22
