Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
y = x+3 + x
y = 2x + 3 where y = number of fruit (oranges plus apples)
and x = number of apples, x+3= number of oranges
let p = the price of apples and q = the price of oranges
then total cost of the fruit = C(x) = px + q(x+3) = (p+q)x + 3q
C = (p+q)x + 3q
(this is a weird problem for grade 7)
