I cant seem to figure this one out

Question

The polynomial  gives the height, in feet, of a ball  seconds after it is tossed into the air, from an initial height of  feet. Find the height after  seconds.

-2t^2 -7t + 3

in 3 seconds, t=3 and

height = -2(3)^2 - 7(3) + 3 = -18 -21 + 3 = - 36 feet, 39 feet below the initial starting position of 3 feet

well, that's how the problem reads. My guess is the t term should have been + not -

and there's some other typo somewhere

If this is gravity at sea level the t^2 term should have had a coefficient of -16, not -2 (unless this was high in the stratosphere)

even those two "corrections" don't save this problem though. Something else is not right.
