Multiply 5x4 (5x4=20)
Multiply 4x1+2 (4x1=4+2=6)
bring the 0 down under the 4 (in the ones column)
Carry the 2 over to the tens column
bring your answer down under the 1 (in the tens column)
your first answer should be 60
Next: Multiply 1x5 (1x5=5)
Multiply 1x1(1x1=1)
your first digit goes in the tens column (under the 6)
your next number goes in the hundreds place that is 1
Add the columns together
60
15
0+0 =0
6+5=11 (place 1underneath the 5)
carry the 1 to the hundreds column 1+1=2
your answer is 210

15 x 14 = (10+5) x 14 = 10(14) + 5(14) = 140 +70 = 210
15 x 14 = 10x14 + (1/2)(10x14) = 140 +140/2= 140 + 70 = 210
