you would use the formula for slope: m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (r-5)/(-3-3)
You're told the slope m = 3/4
so 3/4 = (r-5)/-6
Multiply both sides by -6 ---> -18/4 = r-5
Add 5 to both sides ---> -18/4 + 5 = r
Convert 5 to 20/4 so the left side has the same denominator: -18/4 + 20/4 = r
2/4 = r so r = 1/2
