Hello Casey,
The formula for the slope of a line is m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
You are the given the points (-6, 7) and (12, -10)
Here: x1 = -6, y1 = 7, x2 = 12, y2 = -10
so m = (-10-7)/(12- -6) = -17/18
So the slope of this line is m = -17/18
