f(h+2)= (h+2)^2 -2(h+2) + 1

= h^2 +4h +4 - 2h-4 +1

= h^2 +2h +1

= (h+1)^2

or

f(x) = x^2 -2x +1 = (x-1)^2

f(h+2) = (h+2-1)^2 = (h+1)^2
