The formula for the slope of a line is m = (y2 - y1)/(x2-x1)
Here: x1 = 4, y1 = 16, x2 = -1, y2 = -14
So m = (-14-16)/(-1-4) = -30/-5 = 6
Remember y = mx+b. You need to now find b. You can use either point for that, let's use (4, 16)
16 = 6(4) + b so b =-8
The equation will then be: y = 6x - 8
