*Does anyone know the answer*

*Determine coefficients a and b such that p(x)=x^2+ax+b satisfies p(1)=0 and p′(1)=5. a= b=*

**Hello Anjela,**

If p(1) = 0,

p(x) = x^{2 }+ ax + b

0 = (1)^{2 }+ a(1) + b

0 = 1 + a + b

a + b = -1

d[p(x) = x^{2 }+ ax + b]

p'(x) = 2x + a

if p′(1)=5

5 = 2(1) + a

**a = 3**

a + b = -1

(3) + b = -1

**b = -4**
