To find an equation of a line use: Y-Y₁ = m(X-X₁)

where (X₁ , Y₁) are a coordinate pair, and m = slope.

The points given are (4,-4) & (-2,14)

m = (14 - (-4)) / (-2 - 4)

m = 16 / -6

m = -3

So...

Y - (-4) = -3(X - 4)

Y + 4 = -3X + 12

thus:

h = -3X + 8

& h(7) = -3(7) + 8

h(7) = -13
