My guess is that the directions ask you to divide the square root of each number by 2.
0/2 = 0
1/2
√ 2/2
√ 3/2
2/2 = 1
Now notice that
sin 0 = 0
sin 30 = 1/2
sin 45 = √2/2
sin 60 = √3/2
sin 90 = 1
Essentially if you travel around the unit circle starting at 0 in increments of 30 degrees, until you get to 90 degrees, the sine ratio results in the numbers determined by the above directions.

Actually from 30 to 45 and from 45 to 60 are increments of 15. So more accurate to suggest that we are visiting the acute angles of the special right triangles as we travel from 0 to 90.07/20/21
