3x - 4 = y is a straight line with slope 3 and y intercept -4, x intercept = 4/3
plot those two points (0,-4) and (4/3,0) the intercepts and connect them with a straight line. make it a dotted line to indicate the solution set does not include the line itself. extend the line a little further in both directions and put an arrow at the end to indicate the line goes forever in both directions.
Now figure out which side of the line is the solution to the inequality. 3x-4 > y
plug in the origin, (0,0) x=0, y=0 that gives 3(0)-4>0 or -4>0 which is not true, so you want the other side of the line. shade in the area below the dotted line. that's the solution to the inequality, all points below the line
usually the shading is some intersecting vertical and horizontal lines. You could black out the entire area or just some criss cross type lines
