I needed help with this cause I couldn't understand it

The order of operations is that multiplication and division are performed before addition and subtraction.  So the first step is to multiply 3*4 to get 

 

38 + 11/7 + 12  

 

We need to do the division next, but we can't simplify 11/7 any further.  So put all the terms over a common denominator of 7 so we can add them together 

 

266/7 + 11/7 + 84/7 = 361/7  

 

361 and 7 don't have any common factors so we can't simplify this any further, so we are done
