Which Japanese name sounds cooler/better, Kuro or Mizu?

It really depends what the name is for? If it is for pets, especially dark hair dogs, KURO is cute and perfect! For a person's name, I would say MIZU. or neither. I have a image KURO is not so great. KURO has a lot of meaning, such as black color, bad result, supporters in the back, and so on, and all meanings are not really good. But there is some last name, used with KURO kanji, not in first name though. I don't see MIZU itself as a first name, we usually combine with MIZU kanji ( pronounced ' SUI') and other kanji. MIZU means water. so MIZU is also used for water business (night entertainment business) women. So I am not sure you like MIZU.

I would say that Mizu is better because it sounds pure and clean and flexible. But it is rare as a name.

Kuro is used for Cat's and Dog's names. Kuro is a color of black. It sounds very bad when people describe people's and company's characters such as a criminal person or an illegal company.
