has a solution near x=0.86
Try graphing both sides of the equation, even a rough sketch narrows down the possible solutions for x
4^x is an upward sloping exponential curve with y-intercept = 1
3x/2 +2 is a straight line with slope =3/2 and y intercept =2
they clearly intersect between x=1/2 to x=1
4^.86= 3.29
(3/2)(.86) +2 = 3.29
and just one intersection, just one unique solution
