This problem is a bit tricky. You'd think that the answer is to divide 20 by 6. That is a first step and it's the right one.
But when you divide 20 by 6, you get 3 brownies for each student, with 2 left over. 20/6 = 3 & 2/3. So what should you do with the extra 2 brownies?
The key words to this question is "that the brownies are "shared equally". You can't share a whole brownie with 3 people, or can you? If you decide to do that, you could break up each brownie into 2 piece, and give each student 3 brownies and 2/rds of a browny.
So you have, in my opinion, two answers you could give:
First answer: "Each student would get 3 browning and 2 brownies divided by 3.
Second posssible answer: "Each student gets 3 brownies and I eat the 2 left over!"
Which answer do you think is the best? :)
