Aponi built a toy chest for her niece. It has a volume of 12 cubic feet. The chest is 3 feet long and 2 feet wide. How deep is it?

VOL = l x w x d....so

VOL = 3 x 2 x d

VOL = 6 x d

VOL is 12, so....6 x 2 = 12

Therefore, the depth is 2 ft

The Volume of the Prism is:

V = l • w • d

In this exercise:

V = 12

l = 3

w = 2

12 = 3 • 2 • d

12 = 6 • d

6 • d = 12

d = 12 / 6
